In 1997, Darren Hughes was working for a small training company when his boss informed him they would soon be getting into the online learning business. He and a co-worker bought a book and taught themselves HTML, and he's been designing and coding websites ever since.
Darren has spent the majority of his career in higher education, working first as a multimedia developer and instructional designer for a distance learning program, and then as an administrator of a campus online learning system. After serving for several years as the lead designer at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Darren became the Communications Director for UT's Alumni Association. Darren has given presentations on the subjects of blogging, online learning, and the use of multimedia in the classroom at several national conferences.
