The new title image is a picture I took outside of the Cumberland Theater last year. I love how the woman is dwarfed by the massive list of films -- cinephile Nirvana. I have tickets for 44 films this year, plus a ticket to Sufjan Stevens' sold out concert at the St. Paul's Centre. 44 tickets. It's absurd. But with a 50-film festival pass, I decided to schedule as many as possible, knowing that I'll end up skipping a handful along the way.
I'll have a laptop with me this year and plan to post capsule reviews. Also, I'll be posting the comments of my friend J. Robert Parks, a Chicago film critic. This will be a Long Pauses first, but I'm excited to see how it works. Between the two of us, we could theoretically see more than seventy films. Absurd.
