Finally!
Wednesday, November 26, 2003 |
Looks like Criterion will finally be releasing Robert Bresson's Diary of a Country Priest in February 2004, some two years after rumors of the disc first began floating. It will feature:
- New high-definition digital transfer, with restored image and sound
- Audio commentary by film historian Peter Cowie
- 11-minutes of deleted scenes
- New and improved English subtitle translation
- New essay by film critic Frédéric Bonnaud
- Optimal image quality: RSDL dual-layer edition
It will also feature one of Criterion's uglier works of cover art (a minor complaint). Finally some Bresson on DVD. Hopefully Au Hasard Balthazar will follow soon. [link via Robert-Bresson.com]
